OKX
To another year of building
A letter from OKX Founder and CEO Star Xu
As the CEO of OKX, and a builder at heart, I'm proud to reflect on an extraordinary year of growth and progress. Despite challenges, 2024 was a year of focus, innovation, and resilience. We expanded and enhanced our products, made significant strides in bringing to market a transparent and regulatory compliant onshore business, and added weight to our already deep global executive bench. Most notably, 2024 marked a turning point for the industry, serving as crypto's "comeback year" after a period of heightened uncertainty.

What is USDG?
What is USDG? USDG is a U.S. dollar–linked stablecoin issued by Paxos , one of the world’s largest and most established regulated stablecoin issuers, also known for PAXG , its gold-backed digital asset. USDG is designed to maintain a stable value relative to the U.S. dollar. Stablecoins like USDG aim to provide more predictable pricing than volatile cryptoassets, which makes them particularly suitable for everyday use cases such as payments, transfers, and card spending . By combining blockchain technology with price stability similar to fiat currencies, USDG helps bridge the gap between digital assets and real-world value. USDG can be held, sent, and used within supported applications, including OKX Pay and the OKX Card , without requiring users to manually convert assets before spending.

What are crypto recovery scams?
For most crypto traders, there are few worse scenarios than having your wallet hacked, losing access to your wallet, or having your digital assets stolen. When it happens, many reach out to communities on X, Reddit, or Telegram, asking for support. Although this may seem like a wise first move, it does leave traders vulnerable to crypto recovery scams. Here, the scammer preys on those requesting help by falsely claiming that they can help recover the assets. However, the opposite is true, as the scammer lures victims in to steal funds before disappearing.

What is dollar cost averaging (DCA)?
Dollar cost averaging (DCA) is a trading method consisting of purchasing a fixed amount of an asset at consistent intervals over a sustained period of time, rather than buying all at once. In theory, applying DCA can reduce the overall impact of volatility on a portfolio and reduce the average cost per unit of the asset being traded. That's because, if executed properly, this method can help the trader buy regularly when prices dip — assuming the market sees both highs and lows. DCA isn't without its tradeoffs, however, and it's important to keep a balanced view on the tactic's pros and cons.
